Step One Lead-in (Grammar Explanation)
1. 現在進行時態 定義：表示現在正在進行的動作。
2. 構成：be + 動詞的現在分詞。
1) be 隨著人稱、數的變化而變化。(am is are)
2) 現在分詞的組成形式有如下幾種：
① 動詞后面直接加ing: doing buying playing
② 動詞去e加ing : having taking giving writing
③ 重讀閉音節單詞,雙寫動詞最后一個字母，然后加ing: running swimming sitting shopping getting beginning putting
④ 特殊形式的變化：lie - lying die – dying
3) 練習：
① 把下列動詞改為現在分詞
sit-sitting swim-swimming run-running put-putting get-getting
see-seeing jump-jumping read-reading clean-cleaning eat-eating
listen-listening write-writing have-having take-taking play-playing
② 用be (is, am , are )動詞的適當形式填空
A. Tony is buying some fruits.

3. 現在進行時: 肯定句 be doing
否定句 be not doing
一般疑問句，Be動詞提前到句子開頭
e.g I’m visiting my friends now.
He isn’t writing a postcard.
Is she enjoying her visit?
Are they buying postcards?
句型轉換: 1) She is watching a ballet. (變否定句)
She isn’t watching a ballet.
2) We’re waiting for our teacher. (變一般疑問句)
Are you waiting for your teacher?
3) Is Tony calling a friend? (作肯定問答)
Yes, he is.
4) They are lying in the sun. (畫線提問)
What are they doing?
4. 常與現在進行時態連用的詞:now, listen, look, it’s +時間. 等。
如：What are you doing now? (你在干什么？)
I’m reading now. (我現在正在讀書。)
Listen! She is singing. (聽，她正在唱歌。)
Look! My parents are watering the flowers. (看,我的父母親正在澆花.)
Step Two To look at the picture2 and answer the questions one by one
1. What is the boy doing? He is swimming in the sea.
2. What is the girl doing? She is cleaning the blackboard.
3. What are the students doing? They are dancing.
4. What are the boys doing? They are fishing.
Step Three To complete the conversation Tony is having with his dad. (Activity 2)
Tony: Hi, Dad!
Dad: Hi, Tony .What are you doing (you/do)?
Tony: We are visiting (visit) the Forbidden City. Lingling and Betty are writing (write) postcards.
Dad: What is Daming doing (Daming /do) ?
Tony: He is taking (take) photos. There are lots of people here. They are enjoying (enjoy) the sun. Some are looking (look) at the buildings and some are listening (listen) to the guide.
Dad: Are you having (you/have) a good time?
Tony: Yes, we are having (have) a great time, Dad! See you later.
Dad: Bye.
Step Four To write about the pictures after the example (Activity 3)
Eg: Some boys are playing football. They aren’t playing basketball.
1. Some old people are doing Taijinguan. They aren’t doing yangge.
2. He isn’t watching TV. He is using a computer.
Step Five To Match the words in Box1 with the words in Box2 to make phrases (Activity 4)
1 buying a drink / buying a hot dog 2 calling her mother / calling on the phone

Step Seven To translate the sentences into English
1． 我正站在中國的長城上和你談話。
I’m standing on the Great Wall and talking to you.
2． 我們在參加學校組織的郊游，玩得可高興啦。
We’re on a school trip and having a good time.
3． 你能給我也寄張明信片嗎？
Can you send me a postcard, too?
4． 此時此刻，世界不同地區的人們正在做不同的事情。
At this moment, people in different places of the world are doing different things.
5． 有些人在等公共汽車，有些人在趕火車。
Some people are waiting for a bus. Some are running for a train.
6． 早上，人們起床、洗漱，然后穿衣。
In the morning, people get up, wash, and then get dressed.

Step Eight Writing a postcard (Module Task)
Think of a friend or a member of the students’ family who they don’t often see. Write a postcard saying what they’re doing at the moment.
Homework:
1. To review Module 1 and copy all the words and expressions in P154
