Lesson 62 ( The second period )

(請四組八位同學表演A 問路、B答路；可提供部分地點名稱，如“××大學”、“××電影院”等)
四、 Teaching of new lesson.
1．Listening. Listen to the tape for L62, then read after it aloud.
2．Language points. （用幻燈顯示）
1）Liu Mei is on her way to the cinema…
劉梅在往電影院的路上（途中）……
on one’s way to…，意為“在某人往……的途中”。如果這個短語后面跟的是副詞，如home，there，here等，則不用介詞to。如：
I met an old friend on my way home yesterday.
2）What’s the matter? 出了什么事，怎么啦？
在句中matter是名詞，作“麻煩事”“毛病”解。而在“It doesn’t matter.”句中它作動詞使用，意為“有關系”、“要緊”。
3）He’s sick in hospital. 他生病住院了。
in hospital短語中hospital前不加冠詞，類似的表達還有at work等。如表達“在（某家）醫院里（工作）”等意思，則須加冠詞the。如：
He works in the (a) hospital. 他在那家（一家）醫院工作。
4）But I can’t find the address.
find意為“找到”、“發現”，強調“結果”；如果表示“尋找”、強調“過程”，則用look for。如：I’m looking for my pen but I can’t find it now.
我正在找鋼筆，但還未找到。
5）Maybe you put it there. 也許你把它放在哪兒了。
maybe意為“也許”、“大概”，副詞；在句中作狀語。如：
Maybe you are right. 也許你是對的。
使用時要注意與“may be”區別，may be在句中作謂語。
6）How can I get there? 我怎么到那里呢？
…reach the end. 走到底。
get與reach、arrive表中可表示“到達”。其中reach是及物動詞，它后面直接跟賓語；get作“到達”解時，與arrive一樣是不及物動詞，必須分別通過介詞to（get to）或at、in（arrive at、arrive in）才能跟賓語表示“到過某個地方”。但后面如果是home、there等副詞（作狀語）時，不跟介詞（如本句）
7）He may know. 他（指警察）可能知道。
情態動詞may在句中表示“可能性”。又如：
He may go to Shanghai next week. 下周他可能去上海。
We may have a dictation tomorrow. 明天我們也許要聽寫。
8）It’ll take you about half an hour. 它將花費你大約半小時。
這是個省略句，完整的句子應為：
It’ll take you about half an hour to go to the hospital.
句型“It takes sb. some time to do sth.”意為“某人花了多少時間做某事”。句中it是形式主語，真正的主語是動詞不定式短語to do sth.。take在句子意為“需要”。又如：
It takes us four hours to get there. 我們到那里要4小時。
It took him two hours to finish his work. 他花兩個小時做完自己的活。
9）關于“乘公共汽車”的幾個句子：
Can we go there by bus? 我們可以乘車去（那里）嗎？
句中by bus表示“乘車”這種方式。與“on foot”，“by bike”這些短語一樣，bus前不加冠詞。
The No. 72 bus will take you there. 本句可譯作“你可乘72路公共汽車去那里�！本渥幼置娴囊馑际恰�72路汽車將載你到達那里。”因為只有乘72路才能到達，所以用了定冠詞“the”。
此外，常見的句子還有“Is there a bus?”“有公車（乘）嗎？”。這個句子泛指有沒有任何一路、任何一輛的公車，所以用了不定冠詞a。
課文中“We’d better catch a bus.” “我們最好乘車去。”句子中指乘72路的任何一輛汽車，所以也用了定冠詞a。
10）They look around… 他們四周環顧……
look around= look round 意為“東張西望”。
