      I. Guangdong University set the beginning to "sell students"

In November 30th, 2003, Guangdong University carried their promise that teachers who managed to help their graduates finding a job would be prized. 8 professors, who had succeeded in helping some graduates of the university find a job, were given a bonus as well as the Prize for Special Personal Contributions. This practice soon became a hotspot in China. Some said these professors "sold" their students, while others think that it is an effective way to relieve the employment pressure of university graduates.

Then what's your opinion about this practice? Is there something unacceptable with the university and the teachers? Should they help their students for money? Or it's their duty to do so?

Some opinions from a survey on the Internet:

Bonus from college is professors' legitimate income as well as a sort of encouragement. This is a workable way to encourage more professors to help with graduates' employment.

      Azure

I think this is a good way to help college students to solve the big problem job hunting. I think giving teachers money is a good idea to encourage them.

      Xiaoping Zhang

Teachers help their students find a job in their spare time. Students will save lots of time and needn't to worry about their jobs.

      Trezeguet

In my opinion, although a teacher can recommend his students for a job, colleges schould not encourage a teacher to help his students seek jobs with money.

      Juan Li

I don't think this measure should be awarded. Maybe more urgent thing to do is to teach our students some skills of how to find a job.

      Yanhua Sun

I think it may make a bad effect on the society. Because of money, the competition of finding jobs could be unfair.

      Zhiliang Yue

The duty of a teacher is to help students learn well, thus they can get a job through their own effort.

      Ruiduo Qu

It's beneficial to three parts: universities, teachers and students .So inmy opinion this act should be put in practice widely.

      Weixu Li

Job-hunting is becoming more and more difficult for graduated students. Besides, lack of information and poor relationship in society are an-other disadvantage for them. But it is different for college teachers Having worked for so many years, they have enough information, relationship and experience. So it is sensible for school to encourage teachers to help students find jobs, even using money.

      Zhikun Lu

Guangzhou is the city that I love very much, just for its new concepts and ideas which are ignored or have not been thought well in other cities. I'll say it's a very good way to solve some social problems.

      James Lee

Students should earn their living by themselves, not depend on their schools or others.

      Avia

College students will have to face cruel competition after graduation. If there's someone can help them, they'll relax a lot.

      我的思路

1.Keep your answer to one or two minutes; don't ramble. Use your resume summary as a starting base.

2.Do your homework before the interview! Spend some time online or at the library researching the company. Find out as much as you can, including products, size, income, reputation, image, management talent, people, skills, history and philosophy. Project an informed interest; let the inter viewer tell you about the company.

3.Don't talk about what you want; first, talk about their needs: You would like to be part of a specific company project; you would like to solve a company problem; you can make a definite contribution to specific company goals.

4.Relate past experiences that show you've had success in solving previous employer problem (s) that may be similar to those of the prospective employer.

5.List three or more attractive factors and only one minor unattractive factor.

6.Because of your knowledge, experience, abilities and skills.

7.An opportunity to use your skills, to perform and be recognized .

      8.Keep it brief-give an actions-and results-oriented definition.

9.Not long at all-you expect only a brief period of adjustment to the learning curve.

10.As long as we both feel I'm contributing, achieving, growing, etc.
