Give eco-tourism the go-ahead

2. This centre was set up in 1996 and is stocked with modern technical equipment and computers for environment research.（page 35）
(1) stock的用法
① stock 用作動(dòng)詞，意為“儲(chǔ)備”；“保持……的供應(yīng)”。例如：
This store stocks all types of toys. 這家商店儲(chǔ)備各種類型的玩具。
They do not stock flowers, only fruit. 他們不儲(chǔ)存鮮花，只儲(chǔ)存水果。
They used the house to store the building materials. 他們用那座房子來儲(chǔ)藏建筑材料。
② be stocked with 儲(chǔ)備了……
His head is well stocked with ideas. 他的頭腦里主意很多。
The pond is well stocked with fish. 池塘里有很多魚。
(2) equipment指“設(shè)備”時(shí)是不可數(shù)名詞。例如：
This factory has imported a piece of equipment this year. 這家工廠今年進(jìn)口了一臺(tái)設(shè)備。
The complete equipment of the new hospital will take a year.
這個(gè)新醫(yī)院完全裝備起來要花費(fèi)一年時(shí)間。
3. There are also things that can be done at a national or international level, such as sharing information and solutions between countries and using satellites to pick out areas likely to be affected by desertification.（page 35）
(1) at a…level “在……層次上、在……水平上”
The talks took place at a high level. 那些談判是高級(jí)別的。
The whole class is at a third grade math level. 整個(gè)班級(jí)處于三年級(jí)數(shù)學(xué)的水平。
(2) pick out “挑選、分辨出”。例如：
They have picked out the best items on the menu. 他們從菜單上選出最好的菜。

There were so many people at the conference that I couldn’t pick him out.

(3) to be affected by… 是不定式的被動(dòng)語態(tài)，表示不定式的邏輯主語與不定式所表動(dòng)作構(gòu)成被動(dòng)關(guān)系。又如：
It is an honor for me to be asked to speak here. 我很榮幸應(yīng)邀在這里講話。
Many university students asked to be sent to work in the west of the country.
